Aeration

Aeration is the process of lifting cores of soil to the surface of the lawn area. This process breaks up the thatch layer and mixes soil with it to speed up natural decomposition.

Benefits of aeration

  • Increases air, water and nutrient movement to the roots.

  • Speeds up the decomposition of thatch.

  • Relieves compacted (hardened soil which allows for better absorption of water, fertilizers and other treatments.

  • Stimulates new growth.

  • Increases tolerance to heat and cold.

Full Lawn Renovation

When your lawn is overrun with weeds and undesirable grasses, it is best to clear the area of all vegatation and start fresh.

This is a two stage process.

First we will closely examine the effected area and determine the exact problems that lead to the troubled area. Next, we treat the selected area with a process that will eliminate all growing weeds/grasses. This treatment will leave no residuals that will interfere with future growth.

After 10 days to 2 week, we will then return to aerate, de-thatch, slit-seed, and any additional treatments as determined at the time of the initial visit.

Grassy Weed Control

Crabgrass, Foxtail and Goosegrass are controllable with proper treatment program.

Bent grass and Nimblewill are not controllable and if impacting a large portion of your lawn may require Lawn Renovation.

Preemergence herbicides control crabgrass by preventing seedling crabgrass from becoming established. To be effective, they must be applied before the crabgrass seed germinates.

Lawn Care

The grass is greener and that's part of our name! We distribute a custom blend of fertilizers, weed and insect controls through both liquid and granular distributions. Our four (4) application program is designed to provide your lawn with just the right amount of fertilizers and weed/insect controls for each part of the growing season from spring though fall.

Lawn Insect/Pest Control

Our insecticide control is primarily applied during the summer months with our application 2 & 3. The main purpose of the insecticide is to control grass feeding insects that can damage your lawn such as the sod webworm and chinchbug. However, the added plus is that it also controls fleas and ticks. Extra protection for you and your pets.

Lime/pH Balancing

Lime "sweetens" your soil. In areas where soil is naturally "sour" (acid), lime is extremely important for growing healthy turf. Lime helps to improve lawn color and density, helps to control thatch, and increases root development.

Our lime application helps to keep the chemistry of your soil in balance so you can enjoy a thicker, greener, healthier lawn.

We recommend periodic liming for acid soils.

Preventive Grub Control

The application of a residual insecticide is made to a turf area in late spring through early summer to control the new generation of grub larvae hatching from eggs in late July through August.

Tree & Shrub

Landscape trees and shrubs generally require little to no fertilization. However, there are a host of insect pests that often need attention. Treatment of these problems is handled on an individual basis. Some insects can injure many plants in the landscape while other insects  are host-plant specific. Many landscape plants have common and/or predictable insect pest problems which require specific methods, materials, and timing.

Thatch Removal

Many lawns have some thatch. It is when a lawn has too much thatch that problems occur. Thatch is the layer of living and undecayed dead organic material that lies on top of the soil. It is made up of surface roots, stems and crowns of grass plants.

Studies have shown that grass clippings left on the lawn do not significantly increase thatch. When thatch accumulates to over one-half inch, it often becomes a home to various types of insects and fungus spores which can damage or kill your lawn. Thatch also prevents water, fertilizer and air from reaching the soil and grass roots. This can cause the death of grass plants and serious thinning of the lawn.
